Welcome back – we’re into the final stretch!
Post-Easter break, we now enter the second and final phase of Semester 2 – although slightly confusingly, Good Friday (18th April) and Easter Monday (21st April) are still to come. You’ll find a quick reminder of all upcoming holidays listed below for clarity. First Years – you're wrapping up your 4D component (Animation) this week and then you'll be diving into the final project of your first year. It’s your last chance to show off everything you’ve learned so far – go big! For Second Years – the next four weeks bring a brand new, live project, with opportunities to create work for real-world clients. Time to step up and show what you can do! Third Years – you're in the home straight now. Just 4 weeks of scheduled delivery left, plus the 2-week extension we tag onto your final module. However hard you’ve worked so far, now’s the moment to double down and push through the finish line. Friendly Reminder!
If you’re signed up for next Tuesday’s Edinburgh trip, consider this your official nudge. If your name’s on the list but you’re no longer planning to come, please remove it ASAP and let Dwayne or Tony know. We’ve got a bit of a habit of wasting money on buses with empty seats – let’s not make it a tradition. There’s no set itinerary – you’re free to explore and make of the day what you will. That said, it would be great if the trip had some educational or developmental value beyond just shopping and pints! With that in mind, we’ve put together a handy wee map to help you get your bearings – definitely worth a look before we set off. Bus times and final details coming soon! |

Benjamin Phillips & Ziggy Hanaor
Benjamin Phillips was named the Moira Gemmill Illustrator of the Year 2024 for his moving and beautifully observed work in the Illustration for Children category.
His winning work — a 70-page graphic novel — is a heartfelt exploration of Jewish identity, gentrification, and the relationship between a grandmother and her grandson. The judges praised it as “unique, moving and powerful, with a subtle beauty.”
This prize was part of the V&A Illustration Awards, which celebrate excellence in Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, Advertising & Commercial, Emerging Illustrator, and Illustration for Children.
