ILLUSTRATION NEWSLETTER Semester 2 / Week 7
THE EASTER BREAK COMETH
|
Unlike the 12-week endurance test that is Semester 1, this term brings a well-earned breather with both the upcoming Easter break and the Enhancement Week leading into it.
That’s three weeks without scheduled delivery, before we’re back in action on Monday 14th April. While we absolutely encourage you to take some time to unwind—roll some eggs, embrace some wholesome Easter traditions—we also suggest you plan your time wisely, especially if you're a Level 6 student at the midpoint of your final semester. A little strategic work now could make all the difference later! 📅 Reminder: The UoC Easter break runs from Monday 31st March to Monday 14th April. Easter bank holidays fall on Good Friday, 18th April, and Easter Monday, 21st April. |

Scriberia is all about the power of visual thinking. For over a decade, they’ve been creating illustrations that don’t just look great—they work hard, helping people and businesses bring clarity to their ideas, challenges, and goals.
At the heart of their process is drawing, not just as an art form but as a powerful decision-making tool. Whether working with charities or global corporations, they use visuals to simplify complex ideas, spark conversations, and align teams. Their collaborative approach—often starting with a simple whiteboard session—helps clients prioritise, tell stories, and find direction. In times of uncertainty or change, Scriberia’s drawings turn abstract concepts into something clear, shareable, and actionable. Because for them, drawing isn’t just what they do—it’s how they get things done. Join the session using this link |
THE ASSOCIATION OF ILLUSTRATORS
business master class
thursday 20th april 2-3pm
|
This week, we’re thrilled to welcome The Association of Illustrators (AOI) for their Business Masterclass—an essential session for anyone serious about building a sustainable illustration career.
While this session is particularly beneficial for third-year students, all year groups are encouraged to attend. It’s a rare opportunity to gain valuable industry insights, learn about legal rights and business practices, and ask questions directly to the AOI team. For those unfamiliar, the AOI is a London-based organisation that supports British illustrators with legal guidance, business advice, and professional advocacy. Their membership offers illustrators access to expert contracts advice, pricing support, and legal protection—key knowledge that could make a huge difference in your future career. Important: This year’s session will run differently from previous years. You’ll need to watch a selection of pre-recorded content ahead of the session—details on this will be provided early in the week. Also, note that this session will not run via our usual channels—login details will be shared ASAP. Keep an eye out, and make sure you’re set up and ready to go! |
